HOW MANY THINGS DO YOU KNOW ABOUT BEER?

Most of us like beer, which we appreciate every time we have the opportunity, whether we go out with friends, go on vacation or are home after a busy day. And this is not surprising, because beer is the third most popular drink on the planet, after water and tea, and one of the oldest drinks on the planet.

HOW MANY THINGS DO YOU KNOW ABOUT BEER?

Here is some at least interesting information about the beer experience:

▪ The country with the highest beer consumption per capita remains the Czech Republic, while China has the highest beer consumption in general

▪ Belgium has the most beer brands in the world. Over 400

▪ Louis Pasteur is the one who invented pasteurization

▪ Craft beer producers use adjuvants to enhance flavour, while mega-breweries use adjuvants to reduce it

▪ Beer is kept in dark bottles (brown, in general) to reduce their exposure to light, which affects the quality of the drink

▪ The first professional beer producers were women

▪ IPA beers were developed by British brewers as a way to make them withstand the long journey by sea to India, where they were exported. To better withstand, they added more hops to the contents of the drink. This is how India Pale Ales appeared. By the mid-1800s, IPAs were already brewed and sold throughout England

▪ Globally, the growth of craft beer consumption began somewhere in 2013, in the United States it became a real phenomenon.

▪ In Romania, even if the craft beer producers are still few and have a low production capacity, there is a clear tendency to increase the consumption trend for this segment.

▪ In Romania, recent statistics show that 80% of Romanian women who participated in the study declare beer as their favourite drink.
