Walking Tour - Mitropoliei Hill (history, architecture and spirituality)

Mitropoliei Hill is an important place in the history of Romania. Once upon a time, the area was covered by vineyards that belonged to the voivodes, and in the mid-1600s Prince Constantin Serban built a beautiful church here that would later become the seat of the Patriarchate.

In time, this area expanded from the vineyard full of grapes and the monastery complex to the Metropolitanate and, later, the Patriarchate. It should be mentioned that the Palace of the Chamber of Deputies, which housed the Chamber of Deputies until 1997, was also built here in the neoclassical style.

The whole ensemble and its surroundings have known a history full of interesting events over the centuries, a history that we invite you to discover on the spot with us.
